Work from the Mandala series.
I have used traditional Bulgarian ceramics design in a way that forms a radiating halo resembling moving sun rays.
The figure is inspired by Bulgarian masked creatures called Kukeri, grotesque and frightening in their essence, especially by the mask wearing. However using this as a reference point the mask I portray has a human face, which the figure has symbolically “taken off” so her true self can shine
