The main inspiration for this work has come from traditional folk costumes embroideries from various parts of the Balkans region. Through the years of research I have found a lot of similarities and identical symbols used widely in different cultures and countries.

One of which that really fascinates me is the heavy and rich embroidery on overcoats and vests, that encapsulates the edges and closes the cloth in a beautiful way. However the more important part of this is the protective function it has and the many layers in which it can express various aspects of one`s life.

I have used a very limited palette I wanted to try out and create a more atmospheric haze in the painting process. I usually use quite a lot of colours, but limitations like this can lead to a lot more experimental work and figuring out things in a new way.

I am using new techniques like gradients and having a different aesthetic with a digital reminiscence.
