This work is inspired by a very mystical Bulgarian festival, where people wear special costumes and perform specific rituals.
It is believed that by doing so they scare away the evil spirits. They are usually dressed with sheep skins, wear various animal masks and look grotesque, but I have instead taken the mask off. I also wanted to experiment more with the colours and using bright green hues rather than dark background.Â
